Not that i'm hoping to pull this post up (it was done anyway. BTW some forum rules about not hijacking posts and diverting may be useful too) but some recent "experiences" make me wonder if a minimum code shouldn't be really done. Andy, if you're there, please leave at least a comment. It seriously spoils the fun when a player who is already a couple of pieces down and won't resign disconnects a move away from checkmate. One even found it funny to leave a comment before logging out, instead of playing the only legal move he could make. Such a behaviour is considered abuse in any chess server (i mean for real time chess) and in my honest opinion should come only from basic common sense. It seems that some find their fun in showing to the whole Internet how little of this sense they have. Sorry for any english mistake (not my mother tongue) and enjoy chess here!
Cheers

I too am getting increasingly frustrated with players who show little or no repect for their opponent, by not moving when in a hopeless position and timing out while logged in and moving in other games. This has happened 4 times in the last few weeks. As to not resigning when in a hopeless position, i feel this is fine for a novice who is learning the game, as they can learn in defeat. I find it far from acceptable from a very experienced and competant player. I am currently playing 2 such [both with much higher ELO]players who are making 1 move every 3 days, one of whom is perfectly content to move in my other game against him, where things are more even. I do acknowledge that we all have the right to move as and when we like, but with rights come reponsibilties and we have a baisic responsibily to our fellow members to play in a fair and respectful way.
