I would find music playing in the background really distracting. I like it nice and quiet.

As a musician, i obviously love classical music (yes, all of it). I'm also very fond of flamenco, but in the end i should say i love almost every kind of music

i sometime play music. i like to hear frank sinatra, iris dement and sometimes the mormon tabernacle choir. i like the music of the 1940's
and 1950's too but you don't find that much on the radio much these days.

I listen to light music during my games (mostly james blunt, keane, dido, etc.) and it has a good effect on my game.

If i am able to stay online for a while i sometimes wander around between moves playing my newly acquired saxophone (very badly!). Do you think i should try this when playing tournaments over the board? Havent seen any specific anti sax rules!

They say Mozart temporarily increases your IQ by up to 15%, so he might be the right guys to listen to when on the chess board.
