Hi, mates. Since I am new to this site, I just wanted to ask whether it is allowed here to use various sources for reference while playing a game, whether it would be books/databases or chess engines. Since I couldn't find any rules page, I thought I migth ask.

There are rules for playing on this site and Chess Engines are an absolute no NO, as for books of reference, i think you might be ok, but contact Andy the site owner and he will decide what is and what is not allowed. You will get banned from the site if you are caught ....... dare I say it ........ cheating !

Hehe, thanks, that clarifies things a bit. I actually send a message to the administrator yesterday, no reply yet. I assumed prohibition of chess engines, but wanted to make sure. As for books and databases, that's what I usually use for my corr games, since I use them for study, and since I didn't find any information regarding the rules at this site, I prefered to ask.

You must not use chess engines nor chess computers to help you decide your next move.
You must not consult with anyone nor ask for advice about any of your games in progress.
You may consult chess books or game/move databases at any time.
You may analyse games with chess engines only after they have finished.
